WILKES-BARRE, Pa.- The #5 Juniata men's volleyball team picked up another Continental Volleyball Conference win as they topped Wilkes University 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-19) Saturday afternoon.
Nathanael Brown had nine kills (.471) with a dig and a block, while Tyler Phillips had six kills (.385) with four digs and two blocks. Octavian Sperry added six kills and nine digs, while Luke Hoffman amassed four kills (.800) with two aces, a dig, and a block.
Juniata opened set one with a 10-2 run and never looked back, dominating the set with a .391 hitting percentage as they won 25-12.
The second set was much tighter, with the score 17-15 late. The Eagles closed with an 8-2 run, with Brown tallying the final two kills of the set for JC.
The Colonels led 2-7 early in the third, with a 6-0 run response from the Eagles eventually tying things at 11-11. Wilkes hung around, pulling back within one at 19-18. The Eagles closed strong, as a 6-1 run ended the match 25-19.
Juniata will play their final conference game of the year at Marymount on Wednesday at 7:00.
