Towson, MD – Deric Fritzges and Adam Gallo led the way for the Juniata men's track and field team at the ECAC track and field championships, held at Goucher College.
Fritzges scored in two hurdle events, placing third in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.93 and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.23. He also ran a leg on the 4x400-meter relay, helping the team of Fritzges, Josh Wilson, Caleb Massare, and Gavin Robb clock a season-best 3:30.74 to finish fifth.
Gallo earned the team's only event win of the weekend, taking first place in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:01.43. Teammate Conrad Coffey added a third-place finish in the same race at 16:46.31.
In the field events, Gavin Robb delivered a runner-up finish in the javelin with a season-best mark of 43.16 meters, while Spencer Siegel took third in the shot put with a throw of 14.17 meters.
Logan Hackenberg scored fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 35.14 meters, and Sean Buckley cleared 3.55 meters in the pole vault to finish sixth. Hunter Robertson also cleared a personal record 3.10 meters in the pole vault for eighth place.
Wilson contributed points in the 800 meters with an eighth-place finish in 2:01.54, and Waylon Ehrenzeller jumped 12.01 meters to place seventh in the triple jump.
In the relays, Juniata's 4x800-meter team placed third in a season-best 8:44.92, and the 4x100-meter relay of Buckley, Robb, Ehrenzeller, and Wilson earned sixth in 47.07 seconds.
