Juniata Men's Track & Field Team Posts Strong Performances at Myrtle Beach

The Juniata men's track & field team delivered a series of standout performances at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.

Sprints & Hurdles:

  • 100m Dash: Sophomore Isaiah Huffstutler led the team with a PR of 11.49, finishing 68th overall. Junior Caleb Massare (11.89), freshman Evan Downs (12.54), and freshman Will Dovey (12.84) followed, while freshman Jonathan Morales finished in 13.58.

  • 110m Hurdles: Freshman JJ Asante-Ansong clocked 17.01 to place 17th. Freshman Deric Fritzges did not start.

  • 200m Dash: Huffstutler placed 69th in 23.44, followed by freshman Josh Wilson (24.39), Asante-Ansong (24.87), and sophomore Sean Buckley (26.26).

  • 400m Open: Freshman Dalton Yohn set a PR of 52.63 for 24th place. Wilson (55.13, PR), Downs (56.54, PR), Shane Smith (58.27), and Braden Barrick (1:00.43) also competed.

  • 400m Collegiate: Junior Lincoln Riddle ran 50.93 for 20th place.

  • 400m Hurdles: Fritzges finished 23rd in 1:04.77. Massare did not start.

Mid-Distance & Distance Events:

  • 800m Open: Freshman Jacob Alexander set a PR of 2:10.50, finishing 17th.

  • 1 Mile Open: Freshman Adam Gallo finished 10th in 4:40.09, with freshman McClain Reamer (4:46.35) and sophomore Conrad Coffey (4:46.64, PR) close behind.

  • 3000m: Coffey placed 14th in 9:34.05, followed by Reamer (9:43.90), Gallo (9:51.23), and freshman Clark Gaynor (10:22.48).

Field Events:

  • Discus: Freshman Spencer Siegel led the team with a throw of 37.01m, followed by Noah Rice (33.28m, PR), sophomore Logan Hackenberg (28.51m), and junior Talbot Reed-Jaquay (27.69m).

  • Hammer Throw: Hackenberg threw a PR of 32.37m for 39th place, with Reed-Jaquay (24.53m) and Rice (21.26m) also competing.

  • Javelin: Freshman Aaron Brumbaugh placed 21st with a throw of 43.66m, while sophomore Gavin Robb threw 36.65m for 28th.

  • Long Jump: Freshman Waylon Ehrenzeller leaped 5.07m (16-07.75) for 56th place.

  • Pole Vault: Sophomore Gavin Robb cleared 3.65m (11-11.75) to score a point. Dovey and Buckley did not record heights.

  • Shot Put: Siegel finished 9th with a throw of 13.76m (45-01.75). Rice (11.04m, PR), Reed-Jaquay (10.11m, PR), and Hackenberg (8.95m) followed.

  • Triple Jump: Ehrenzeller finished 38th with a jump of 11.33m (37-02.25).

Relays:

  • 4x100m Relay: The team (Riddle, Fritzges, Huffstutler, Massare) did not start.

  • 4x400m Relay: The 'B' team (Downs, Smith, Robb, Asante-Ansong) clocked 3:36.01 for 15th place. The 'A' team (Huffstutler, Massare, Alexander, Wilson) finished in 3:56.73, and the 'C' team (Barrick, Dovey, Gaynor, Buckley) ran 4:04.19.

  • 4x800m Relay: The 'A' team (Wilson, Alexander, Coffey, Reamer) secured 7th place with a time of 8:54.15, earning 3 points. The 'B' team (Gallo, Gaynor, Barrick, Smith) ran 9:20.10 for 8th place.
