Mattioni’s Six Saves Secure Draw Against No. 14 Scranton

Huntingdon, Pa. – Maxwell Mattioni recorded his eighth shutout of the season as Juniata men's soccer battled to a 0-0 draw against nationally ranked Scranton on Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium.

The Eagles' back line stood tall throughout the match, limiting one of the Landmark Conference's top offenses to just six shots on goal. Mattioni anchored the defensive effort with six saves, including several key stops late in the second half to preserve the clean sheet.

Jase Colino provided Juniata's best scoring chance of the day with a strong strike on target in the first half, while defenders Liam Kolbay, Gavin Rauhut, and Harshaan Grewal each played 75-plus minutes to help keep Scranton off the scoreboard.

The physical match featured seven yellow cards between the teams, as Juniata battled through a hard-fought 90 minutes to earn a crucial conference point.

With the draw, Juniata moves to 7-3-7 overall and 2-1-3 in Landmark play. The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday against Lycoming as they continue their push toward postseason contention.
