HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team dominated for large parts of the game as they edged Wilkes University, 1-0, Wednesday evening at Gibbel Stadium.
The Eagles created their first good opportunity 16 minutes into the game when Joseph Cianfichi played a useful diagonal through ball to play Malvin Madzimbamuto on the right side. He found Blake Cassel in the box, but his shot went wide.
Twelve minutes later, Madzimbamuto tracked down a loose ball right at the touchline and found Andrew Murta all alone 12 yards out. Murta slotted the ball into the left corner to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

Juniata kept up the pressure in the first half as they managed nine shots but couldn't find a second goal.
The second half again saw the Eagles dominate long stretches of play, but the Colonels began to find a few seems in the JC defense; but Axel Grater was up to the task.
The junior keeper made a number of fine saves in the second half as he helped Juniata get the win.
Juniata will try to continue their winning ways as they host Swarthmore this Saturday at 1:00.
