Eagles Soar Over the Wildcats as Wojciechowski Ties the Single Game Points Record

Huntingdon, Pa.- The Juniata men's lacrosse team welcomed the Randolph College Wildcats to Gibbel Stadium on Saturday and secured their second win of the season by a final score of 12-5 Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium.

Sophomore Beaux Wojciechowski and senior Aiden Duran scored the Eagles' opening two goals. The pair of attackers finding the back of the net quickly became a common trend in the game. There wasn't one-quarter of the game where at least one of them did not add to the Eagles' tally. They each totaled four goals on the day.

Long stick midfielder and junior Matt McCleary netted his first goal of the season, and sophomore midfielder Brandon Simonini scored after Duran found his second in a dominant start to give the Eagles a 5-2 lead after the first period.

Duran made it three and bumped the lead up to four in the second period, taking a 6-2 scoreline into the halftime break.

Randolph fought back and opened the third period with two goals, which seemed to rattle Juniata. After a timeout, the Eagles responded promptly with two goals of their own to push the lead back to four heading into the fourth period. Charlie Newman and Wojciechowski both added unassisted goals in the period.

Randolph scored once in the final period, but it came in the middle of a surge from the Eagles, where Duran, Vincent Bechler, and Wojciechowski extended the lead to seven to clinch a crucial 12-5 win in the season.

The Eagles tallied eight assists on 12 goals on the day, and junior goalie Ryan Madison totaled 13 saves between the pipes. Assists came from Wojciechowski (3), Kolton Black (2), Simonini (2) and Duran (1).

Wojciechowski's seven points tie the program record for points in a game.

The Eagles improve to 2-5 on the season and will look to achieve back-to-back victories at Penn College on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
