Cardinals Top Eagles in Nation's Capital

WASHINGTON, DC- The Juniata men's lacrosse team suffered a 23-1 loss on the road at The Catholic University of America Saturday afternoon at Carlini Field.

Beaux Wojciechowski had the lone goal for the Eagles, with Brandon Simonini providing the assist. A. John DeFruscio had three caused turnovers to go with his two ground balls, while Dan Patricco added three caused turnovers of his own.

Justin Toney made 11 saves in goal for JC, Ryan Madison made three, and Kenny Ward made four.

The Cardinals dominated the first quarter as they outshot Juniata 22-4 and led 7-0 at the end of the opener. In the second, they held a 17-4 advantage in shots as Juniata trailed 15-0 heading into halftime.

The Cardinals struck twice in the third and for another five to start the fourth before Simonini found Wojciechowski while JC was a man up for their lone goal of the game. The Cardinals added one more in the final three minutes to complete the scoring.

Juniata will host Susquehanna Wednesday at 4:00.
