Royals Roll Past Eagles

Royals Roll Past Eagles

SCRANTON, Pa.- The Juniata men's lacrosse team opened Landmark Conference play on the road at Scranton, where they lost, 25-4, Saturday afternoon at Weiss Field.

Aiden Duran had two goals and a ground ball, Charlie Newman had two goals and two ground balls, and Beaux Wojciechowski tallied two assists and a ground ball.

Scranton dominated the first quarter as they scored eight goals on 17 to shots to Juniata's two shots.

The second quarter saw them add six more in the first 13 minutes as the Eagles trailed 14-0 before Wojciechowski found Newman with just over a minute remaining in the half to get the Eagles on the board.

Wojciechowski supplied the assist on the lone Eagle goal in the third as well; this time, he found Duran in the final three minutes of the third, which made it 19-2.

Duran and Newman scored unassisted goals 15 seconds apart to begin the fourth for the final Eagle goals of the game.

Justin Toney made 13 saves in goal for the Eagles, Ryan Madison made three, and Griffin Umstead made two.

The Eagles will host Goucher next Saturday at 1:00.
