Eagles Fall to Mounties

Eagles Fall to Mounties

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata baseball team dropped a pair of games to visiting Mount Aloysius, 12-1 and 5-2, Wednesday afternoon at Langdon Goodale.

Game one opened with the Mounties pushing two runs across, on a double to left center and later on an RBI single to left. In the bottom half of the inning, Dakotah Snyder led off with a single and got to third on Corey Daniels's flyout to right. Evan Mock drove him in on another flyout to right to halve the score.

The Mounties plated another run in the third and another three in the fourth on two solo back-to-back home runs and a passed ball.

The visitors scored five in the fifth to increase their lead to 11 and scored the final run of the game in the top of the seventh on a triple to right.

Snyder went 1-3 with a run scored, while Joey Woodrow went 1-2 with a walk.

In game two, the Mounties struck for three runs in the second on a sac fly, a double steal, and an RBI double to left to lead 3-0. A solo homer in the third put their lead at 4-0.

In the bottom half of the third, Snyder singled up the middle, and Mock followed with a single through the left side as Snyder went first to third. Snyder scored while Mock got caught in a rundown as the Eagles trailed 4-1.

In the fifth, an RBI double in the top left increased their lead back to four. Chatram Persaud scored on a wild pitch in the bottom half of the inning, but the Eagles couldn't muster any more runs.

Sebastian Tringali went 1-3 with a double, while Snyder was 1-4 with a run scored.

The Eagles have a quick turnaround as they will host Pitt. Greensburg. First pitch is at 4:00.
