Track’s Clapper, Bauer, Brown compete at Jim Thorpe Open

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. –  Three Juniata College track and field athletes competed at Friday’s Jim Thorpe Open, hosted by Penn State University at the Nittany Lion Track.

Junior Justin Clapper (Buffalo Mills, Pa./Bedford) finished fourth in both the discus and the hammer. Clapper’s mark in the discus was 129-2, while his best throw in the hammer was 140-1.

Senior Nicholas Bauer (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) was sixth in the long jump with an effort of 20-2 ½.

Senior Erika Brown (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) finished tied for 7th in the high jump with a mark of 5-1.

Selected members of the Juniata track and field teams will compete at the Lynchburg College Open on May 7-8, in Lynchburg, Va.
