  • Title:
    Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach
  • Alma Mater:
    SUNY New Paltz '12

Ramius Pruiss joined the Juniata men’s volleyball coaching staff ahead of the 2025–26 season, bringing over a decade of experience in collegiate and club volleyball coaching, player development, and program leadership across multiple competitive levels.

Before arriving in Huntingdon, Pruiss served as an assistant coach for the SUNY New Paltz men’s volleyball program during the 2023–24 season. While with the Hawks, he played a key role in player development, match preparation, and strength and conditioning programming, implementing a comprehensive, periodized training model that focused on athletic performance testing and individualized development for each athlete. His primary responsibilities included working with liberos and team defense, compiling scouting reports, and assisting with match logistics and statistical analysis.

In addition to his collegiate experience, Pruiss has made a significant impact on the club volleyball scene. Most recently, he served as a technical coordinator and assistant coach for the Sportime Volleyball Club’s 17 National Team in Bethpage, N.Y., where he helped design youth development programs and mentored coaches across multiple age divisions. Previously, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the Academy Volleyball Club’s 17U Boys National Team in Massapequa, leading the program to a 47–11 (.810) record in 2023 and a second-place finish at the USAV Boys Nationals in Utah. Under his guidance, three athletes earned invitations to the National Team Development Program.

Pruiss also brings Division I experience, having worked as a volunteer assistant coach for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point during the 2020–21 season. That year, Army captured the Patriot League Championship and earned an NCAA Tournament berth, with three players earning All-Conference recognition. For his contributions, Pruiss was awarded the Civilian Service Commendation Medal in 2021.

Outside of coaching, Pruiss is the founder and CEO of FrogJump Volleyball, a nationally recognized media and analytics platform dedicated to promoting Division III men’s volleyball. Through his leadership, the brand has grown to more than 20,000 combined social media followers and established several national awards, including the FrogJump Preseason All-America Teams, Team of the Week honors, and the annual All-Freshman Team.

A native of Newburgh, N.Y., Pruiss earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from SUNY New Paltz in 2012 and later completed his Master of Arts in Recreation Management from SUNY Cortland in 2017.
