Matthew Then joined the Juniata College Athletics Department as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in February 2025.

In his current role, Then provides day-to-day oversight of the department’s social media and external marketing operations. He coordinates game day staffing, livestream production, and statistical coverage for all 22 varsity sports, and serves as the primary contact for a number of programs. Then also manages the department’s presence on FloSports and is proficient in NCAA Live Stats for basketball, soccer, baseball, and softball. He regularly produces press releases and feature content for Juniata’s official athletics website, juniatasports.net.

Before arriving at Juniata, Then served as an Athletic Communications Intern at the University of Rochester from August to December 2024. During his time with the Yellowjackets, he assisted with content creation and social media efforts, while also contributing to game day coverage of soccer, football, field hockey, and basketball. He also wrote game recaps and preview articles for uofrathletics.com.

Then previously held multiple roles in athletic communications and operations at SUNY Brockport, where he worked as both an Athletic Communications Assistant and an Athletic Events Assistant from 2021 to 2023. He supported live event operations, statistical reporting, and social media content for Golden Eagles athletics, while also helping lead game day staffing and setup.

A native of Queens, New York, Then earned his B.S. in Sport Management from SUNY Brockport in 2024. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Organizational Leadership at Juniata College.
