Women's Lacrosse to Host Hartford in ECAC Championship Game on Wednesday

DANBURY, Conn.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team will get the chance to cap the program's best season to date with a trophy as they face the University of Hartford in the ECAC DIII Women's Lacrosse Championship on Wednesday evening.

The contest will be hosted at Gibbel Stadium this Wednesday, May 8th, at 6:00 pm, and the Eagles will face the University of Hartford following their first season at the NCAA Division III level. The Hawks went 8-7, 6-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. They were unable to compete in the CCC Tournament due to the transition to DIII.

The Juniata women's lacrosse team achieved several milestones to date, entering Wednesday's game. The Eagles have had the winningest season in program history overall and in Landmark Conference action, going 14-5, 6-3 entering Wednesday's game. They qualified for the Landmark Conference Tournament for the first time and earned the program's first playoff win following a 17-11 defeat of Drew in the quarterfinal round before falling at #22 Scranton 14-7 in the semifinals.

The event will be broadcast on FloSports here. Admission to the event is free.
