Eight Different Eagles Score in Season Opening Win at Neumann

ASTON, Pa.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team never trailed in their season-opener as they won at Neumann College, 16-3, Wednesday afternoon. 

Grace Gibbs tallied three goals, an assist, four ground balls, six draw controls, and two caused turnovers, while Kyndall Yeager had three goals and an assist. Kelliann Drummond had two goals and an assist, while Peyton Goodrich totaled three goals, a ground ball, and three draw controls. Shannon Para added two goals, two ground balls, and a caused turnover, while Devyn Mauger had a goal, an assist, a ground ball, a draw control, and a caused turnover. Skyler Stevens had a goal and an assist, while Gwen DeLeva contributed a goal, a ground ball, and a caused turnover. Maeve Kuser had a game-high seven ground balls, and six caused turnovers. Caoilinn Heatley got the win in goal. 

Juniata got three unassisted goals in the first as Gibbs scored the first goal of the year. Mauger found the back of the net three minutes later, and Yeager pushed the lead to three, which was the difference after the first. 

Gibbs added a second to start the second, and the Knights used a free-position shot to get into the scorebook. JC closed the half by scoring the final four goals of the half as Para answered the Knight goal 15 seconds later, Stevens set up Gibbs for her third, Drummond scored her first goal of the 2024 season, and Yeager scored in the final minute of the half as JC led 8-1 at the half. 

Juniata cruised through the second half as they outscored Neumann 8-2, blanking the hosts in the final quarter to win 16-3. 

The Eagles return to action on the road this Saturday as they travel to take on Hood Saturday at noon.
