ALFRED, NY.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team stayed perfect on season-opening games as they won 21-3 at Alfred Saturday afternoon at Yunevich Stadium.

The Eagles scored the first five goals, four from Natalie Gibson (Annapolis, Md. / Broadneck) along with one from Talia Bertrando (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) over the first eight minutes. The Saxons got one back, but the Eagle onslaught continued as Gibson scored one more, Bertrando struck twice while Paige Riker (Sussex, N.J. / Vernon Township) tallied two of her own to make it 9-1. Alfred scored off a free position shot, but the Eagles closed the half with four goals as Andrea Insalaco (Woodlyn, Pa. / Ridley) found the back of the net two times and Bertrando got her third and fourth of the half.

The Eagles continued to dominate in the second half as they outscored their hosts 8-1 to cruise to a 21-3 win.

Juniata had their largest ever goal differential and shot differential as they completely dominated the game.

JC will face Lancaster Bible in their first home contest, Wednesday at 4:00.
