Women's Lacrosse Blanks Cedar Crest

ALLENTOWN, Pa.-The Juniata women's lacrosse team had their first shutout of the year as they blanked Cedar Crest, 13-0, Wednesday afternoon at the Falcon Plex.  

Lauren Rowe (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) scored five goals and picked up three ground balls, Kylie Edwards (Danville, Pa./Danville) had a goal with four assists while Arielle Danchenko (Palm City, Fla./South Fork HS) had one goal, two assists, four ground balls, five draw controls and two caused turnovers. Zoe Fishter (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) tallied three goals, two ground balls and a caused turnover while Natalie Gibson (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) tallied a goal, four ground balls and three draw controls. Hillary Grove (York, Pa./Central York HS) and Santana Mays (Parkton, Md./Hereford) each tallied one goal and two ground balls apiece.  

Isabella Medaris (Monroe, Conn./Masulk) started Lucy Summerton (Leicester, U.K./Leicester Grammar School) finished the game in goal to shut out the Falcons. 

Rowe open the scoring for the Eagles will two goals in the opening nine minutes off assists from Danchenko and Edwards, respectively. 

Edwards set up another goal, this time Grove before Danchenko scored unassisted as Juniata led 4-0 in the first fifteen minutes of the game.

In the final five and half minutes of the half: Rowe, Edwards and Gibson all found the back of the net twice while Fishter scored twice to send JC into the half up 9-0.

The second half saw Rowe strike twice more and Mays and Fishter add one goal each as the Eagles pushed their advantage to 13-0.
