  • Juniata Recognizes Big Five at 17th Annual Athletics Awards Night

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Juniata College Athletics reviewed its year in sports and acknowledged the accomplishments of its student-athletes at the 17th Annual Athletic Awards Night. Held Sunday night on campus, the event also recognized the departments “Big Five”, the top five senior student-athletes who have made incredible contributions not only to their respective sports, but the institution as a whole over the course of their four years.
  • MAC-100 All-Century Team Voting Ends Friday

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Fan voting for the winter Middle Atlantic Conferences (MAC) all-century teams will end this Friday, March 8 at 11:59 p.m. Juniata fans still have time to help some of their favorites get recognized for their accomplishments, but the window is closing. There are nominees in men and women’s basketball, men and women’s swimming and men’s wrestling.
  • Rally Falls Short For Eagles in ECAC Semis Against Moravian

    BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Juniata women’s basketball overcame a 12-deficit against Moravian College in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) south region semifinal Saturday afternoon but could not come away with the win and fell 68-64 to end their season. Juniata (19-9) won three of its last five games and finished the season 1-2 against the Greyhounds.
  • Eagles Soar to Next Round With 94-80 Win Over Carnegie Mellon

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Senior Jordan Speck (Huntingdon, Pa./Southern Huntingdon) scored a game and career-high 29 points to help lead the Juniata women’s basketball team to a 94-80 win over Carnegie Mellon Wednesday night in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) quarterfinals. Speck made a career-best six three’s and went 7-for-8 from the free throw line.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Junior Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College) scored her 1,000th career point as the Juniata women’s basketball team cruised past Drew University 96-48 Saturday night in the Kennedy Sports+Recreation Center. Juniata (18-7, 9-5 Landmark) held the Rangers scoreless for over 10 minutes in the first half to remain undefeated at home against the league rival.
  • Eagles Battle Back to Defeat Susquehanna 61-47

    SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Juniata women’s basketball team used a 10-2 run at the beginning of the second half to slingshot themselves past Susquehanna University 61-47 on the road Wednesday night. Juniata (17-7, 8-5 Landmark) went from trailing the Crusaders by one at the half, to leading by as much as 14 points.

    TOWSON, Md. – Juniata women’s basketball pulled away from Goucher College in the second half to earn the 62-45 road win Wednesday night. The win helps Juniata (15-6, 6-4 Landmark) in the Landmark Conference playoffs picture as the Eagles now fight for the final position.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After earning Landmark Conference Player of the Week honors, junior Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Player of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday. This is the second time this season McDonald has garnered the honor.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – For the second time this season junior Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) has been named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. The 5-10 forward is ranked nationally in seven different categories and currently leads the team in several categories, including points, rebounds, steals and blocks.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Junior Jordan Hileman (Williamsburg, Pa./Williamsburg) scored a game and career-high 24 points to help lead the Juniata women’s basketball team to a 70-60 win over Susquehanna University Wednesday night. The Eagles (14-4, 5-2 Landmark) are on a four-game win streak and currently sit third in the Landmark Conference.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women’s basketball team pulled out the 69-60 win over Landmark Conference rivals the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Saturday afternoon in the Kennedy Sports+Recreation Center. Juniata (13-4, 4-2 Landmark) has won seven of its last eight games and currently sits third in the league standings.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women’s basketball team rode a 25-point halftime lead to its 11th straight win over Landmark Conference rival Goucher College Wednesday night in the Kennedy Sports+Recreation Center. Everyone saw playing time as the Eagles (12-4, 3-2 Landmark) cruised to a 71-33 victory, their largest win margin of the season.

The Eagles are one of the top 100 programs in nine major categories including being ranked No. 2 in free throw percentage.
  • Juniata Downs Drew 73-53, Improves to 2-2 in Landmark Play

    MADISON, N.J. – After dropping a close conference game to a nationally ranked opponent, the Juniata women’s basketball team rebounded by downing Landmark Conference rival Drew University 73-53 on the road Saturday afternoon. Juniata (11-4, 2-2 Landmark) had 12 steals and a season-high 51 rebounds in the win. Drew dropped to 5-10, 1-3 in the conference with the loss.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conferences (MAC) is enlisting the help of its fans to determine the MAC-100 All-Century Teams. The nominees for the winter sports teams have been released and fan voting is currently open online. Juniata fans can help some of their favorites get recognized for their accomplishments. The Eagles have nominees in men and women’s basketball, men and women’s swimming and men’s wrestling.
  • Eagles Drops 70-64 Decision at No. 13 Catholic

    WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Juniata women’s basketball team ran out of steam against No. 13 Catholic University Wednesday night as the Eagles dropped their second Landmark Conference game of the season 70-64. Juniata (10-4, 1-2 Landmark) finished with 22 assists and nine steals. Catholic remained undefeated (14-0, 3-0 Landmark) with the win.
  • Free Throws Lift Eagles Over Scranton 65-61 in Overtime

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women’s basketball team shot a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line in overtime to pull ahead of Landmark Conference rival the University of Scranton, 65-61, Saturday afternoon in the Kennedy Sports+Recreation Center. As a team, the Eagles shot 90.5 percent from the free throw line in the win. They improved to 10-3 overall, 1-1 Landmark, while Scranton dropped to 9-3, 2-1 Landmark.
  • Juniata Cruises to 78-43 Win Over Wilkes

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – An early 10-point swing helped propel the Juniata women’s basketball team to its third straight win Wednesday night as the Eagles cruised to a 78-43 decision over Wilkes University at the Kennedy Sports+Recreation Center. Juniata improved to 9-3 with the win, while the Lady Colonels dropped to 7-4.
  • Juniata Routs John Jay 78-46, Advances to Championship Game

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata women’s basketball flew past John Jay College 78-46 Friday night in the semifinals of the Holiday Tournament. The Eagles (7-3) saw their bench contribute 26 points to the season-high total. John Jay dropped to 4-5 with the loss.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata women’s basketball’s came back from a 20 point first half deficit but could not hold on as they eventually fell 69-59 at home to Franklin & Marshall (F&M) Tuesday night. The Eagles dropped to 6-3 with the loss while F&M improved to 4-5.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Junior Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) of Juniata women’s basketball was recognized nationally by D3Hoops.com and the Eastern College Athletics Conference (ECAC) for her outstanding play last week. D3Hoops.com tapped the forward to its Team of the Week and the ECAC named her the Division III South Player of the Week.

McDonald averaged over 20 points per game to help lead the Eagles to an undefeated 2-0 week and became the first Eagle basketball player this season to receive conference honors.

The Eagles (3-0) were led by junior Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) who finished with her third double-double in three games. The forward earned a career-high 22 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds.
