  • Juniata Softball Has Five Named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College softball team was one of three Landmark Conference programs to earn National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Academic Team honors. The Eagles earned a 3.254 team grade point average (GPA), the second highest Landmark school represented, and saw five named All-America Scholar-Athletes.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Landmark Conference has released its 2013 Spring Academic Honor Roll and 29 Juniata College student-athletes have made the cut. The Eagles are of at least sophomore status and have maintained a 3.2 cumulative GPA while competing in their respective sports. Among the recipients are 10 all-conference selections and four Landmark Champions.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Landmark Conference has named Juniata College softball senior Steph Frith (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) to second-team all-conference. The shortstop led the team with a .350 batting average and finished her final year with a .409 on-base percentage.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Juniata College Athletics reviewed its year in sports and acknowledged the accomplishments of its student-athletes at the 17th Annual Athletic Awards Night. Held Sunday night on campus, the event also recognized the departments “Big Five”, the top five senior student-athletes who have made incredible contributions not only to their respective sports, but the institution as a whole over the course of their four years.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. - After finishing her inaugural season at the helm with a 4-6 record against Landmark Conference opponents, head coach Sam Kszepka has led the Juniata College softball team to its first postseason berth since 2010. Juniata (10-16) is the No. 4 seed and will face No. 1 seed Susquehanna University on Friday, May 3 at 11 a.m.
  • Juniata Sweeps Penn State Harrisburg, Moves to 10-12 Overall

    HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Juniata College softball team swept Penn State Harrisburg Monday afternoon to improve to 10-12 overall, the most wins the program has seen since 2010. Juniata took game one 11-5 and then went on to win game two 11-6. Penn State Harrisburg dropped to 9-19 with the losses.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Juniata College softball team lost two tough battles to Dickinson College Thursday afternoon at home. The Eagles fell 3-0 in game one and then could not hold on in game two, losing 2-1 in the ninth inning.
  • Decker Named Landmark Pitcher of the Week

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After pitching a three hit shutout of conference rival Catholic University Sunday, junior Kelsey Decker (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) was named Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week, the organization announced Monday. This is Decker’s second weekly honor from the Landmark. She was the last Eagle to receive recognition and the second in program history to earn the honor more than once.
  • Eagles Split With Cardinals, Move to 7-9 Overall

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Juniata College softball handed Landmark Conference rival Catholic University it's second shutout loss of the season to open the doubleheader at home Sunday. Juniata defeated Catholic 5-0 in game one, but the Cardinals came back and took game two, 7-2, splitting the day. The Eagles are now 7-9 overall, 3-3 in the Landmark. They currently sit tied for third in the league with Catholic who moved to 13-9 overall.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College softball team split its doubleheader against Landmark Conference rival the University of Scranton Saturday in its first home games of the season. The Eagles battled tough in game one, before falling 3-2 in the 10th inning. They rallied back and took game two 7-1 to improve to 6-8 overall, 2-2 against Landmark Conference opponents. The Eagles handed Scranton their first conference loss of the season. They dropped to 5-6 overall, 3-1 in league play.

    PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Juniata College softball team took two from LaRoche College Thursday afternoon to improve to 5-7 overall on the season. Juniata won game one of the doubleheader 6-2 and went on to win game two 6-3. LaRoche dropped to 2-10 with the losses. The Eagles have now won three of their last four games.

    MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Juniata College softball team started its 2013 season off with a bang. The Eagles hit four home runs and three doubles across two games to open play at the Snowbird Classic Monday morning. Juniata defeated Gettysburg 4-1 before going on to rout Penn College 14-0. The Eagles haven’t scored 14 runs in a single-game since 2005.
