AUSTIN, TX.- The Juniata women's volleyball team placed four on the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America team, led by Division III Academic Al-American Team Member of the Year Olivia Foley.
Joining Foley on the first team was Mackenzie Coley, who was named an Academic All-American for the third consecutive year. Kennedy Christy and Lily Podolan were named to the second team.
Foley, whose Program of Emphasis was social work and who is now pursuing a master's in public health, is the second-ever Juniata student-athlete to earn the Team Member of the Year award. Carli Dale won the award in 2004-2005.
Foley adds this to an extensive list of accolades that includes American Volleyball Coaches Association Player of the Year, AVCA First Team All-American, AVCA Region 5 Player of the Year, Landmark Conference Player of the Year, and an all-conference first-team selection. She was also the Eastern College Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
Coley was one of six athletes to be repeat Academic All-Americans. The senior middle hitter adds this to her list of accomplishments this season, which includes AVCA First Team All-American, AVCA All-Region, and Landmark All-Conference first team.
Christy had her own plethora of awards. She was also an AVCA First Team All-American, AVCA All-Region, and all-conference first-team selection. She was also named the Most Outstanding Player of the final three rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
Podolan collected plenty of accolades this season as she was an AVCA All-Region selection and named to the Landmark All-Conference first team.
The complete Division III team had a cumulative 3.83 GPA.
