LEXINGTON, Ky.- Juniata women's volleyball setter extraordinaire Olivia Foley has been named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Player of the Year for the second straight year. She is the sixth player to earn Player of the Year Honors from the AVCA.
The Coldwater, Michigan native has racked up the awards directing the Eagle attack. She was named an AVCA First Team All-American for the second straight season, was the AVCA Region 5 Player of the Year, Landmark Player of the Year and made the all-conference first team. She was also named to the NCAA Huntingdon Regional All-Tournament team.
Foley currently has 967 assists, 232 digs, 45 kills, 30 aces and 21 blocks on the year. Her 12.03 assists per set leads the country, and the team's .317 hitting percentage is the second best in the country. The team's 14.40 kills per set is also leading the country.
Foley is the second Eagle to win back-to-back AVCA Player of the Year honors, joining 2024 Juniata Hall of Famer Amber Thomas (2007, 2008). The other two winners are 2016 Juniata Hall of Famer Carli Dale (2004) and 2018 Hall of Famer Stephanie Kines.
The award, given out since 1985, has only had six back-back winners.
The Juniata women's volleyball team will take on the University of La Verne Leopards, tomorrow at 4:30 in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
