TOWSON, Md.- Women's volleyball libero Kiona Sky Rousset-Hernandez has been named Landmark Defensive Athlete of the week for women's volleyball in week one.
During the week Rousset-Hernandez had 47 digs, eight serves, and six aces.
Rousset-Hernandez played a key role in two straight-set wins over ranked opponents this weekend, including Christopher Newport (25-22, 25-19, 25-14) and William Patterson (25-14, 26-24, 25-22). Across the weekend, Juniata claimed three total wins, also defeating #4 Johns Hopkins (25-16,21-25,25-15,25,12) in four sets.
The Eagles sit at 3-0 (25-14, 26-24, 25-22) on the year and are on a 65-game winning streak. They are on brink of tying the NCAA Division III women's volleyball winning streak of 66.
Juniata will host Ohio Northern on Friday at 7:00 in Memorial Gymnasium, where the 2023 National Championship Banner will be unveiled prior to the start of the match.
