HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Juniata women's track and field standout Olivia Barbacci was named Juniata Athlete of the Month for January, as voted upon by members of the athletic department.
Barbacci has been soaring to new heights in the Pole Vault. January 18th at Susquehanna: She ran the 60m hurdles in 10.00, placing fourth overall, and establishing herself as tied for fourth best all-time in Juniata History. She placed second overall in the Pole Vault with a mark of 3.20m January 25th at Franklin and Marshall: She broke her own school record in the Pole Vault jumping 3.33m, placing third overall in the meet, only behind two DII Millersville competitors.
About Juniata Athlete of the Month Award:
This academic year, we will be introducing the Juniata Athlete of the Month recognition as voted upon by the athletic department. Athletes are only allowed to win once per academic year. The purpose of these awards is to recognize the hard work and effort of our student-athletes.
