SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Juniata women's track and field team competed at the Susquehanna Early Season Multi and Invitational on Saturday. Several athletes delivered notable performances in their respective events.
In the 60-meter dash, Olivia Barbacci finished in third place with a time of 8.18 seconds. The Eagles had strong participation in the event, with Breanne Spencer (18th, 8.74 seconds), Rebecca Christophel (20th, 8.80 seconds), Zoe Biles (21st, 8.81 seconds), and Jacqueline Bryant (26th, 9.08 seconds) contributing also.
Barbacci continued her success in the 200-meter dash, earning a runner-up finish in 26.93 seconds. In the 800-meter run, Christophel finished 8th in 2:31.64, while Camille McRoberts followed closely in 12th place at 2:34.13.
McRoberts also competed in the mile run, taking second place in 5:49.71, with teammate Justice Sheaffer adding a fifth place finish in 6:40.39.
In the field events, Juniata's pole vaulters had a strong showing, with Barbacci clearing 3.30m to place eighth, followed by Josie Kelly in 12th at 2.55m. Barbacci also competed in the high jump, clearing 1.33m for eighth place. In the long jump, Juniata saw multiple athletes contribute: Kelly (13th, 4.42m), Spencer (14th, 4.35m), Bryant (16th, 4.26m), Haley Mummah (18th, 4.11m), and Rae Waight (19th, 3.60m).
The women's team also had participants in the throws, where Chloe Sauer finished 20th in the weight throw with a distance of 9.38m and 8th in the shot put with a throw of 10.10m. Paytan Henry tied for 24th in the shot put with a mark of 7.55m, while Rae Waight placed 27th at 6.75m.
Juniata returns to action on January 18.
