Women's Track and Field Earns Three Landmark All-Conference Selections

TOWSON, Md.- Following a sixth-place weekend at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the team earned three Landmark All-Conference selections, including two for Olivia Barbacci and one for Nandee Correia

Barbacci won the pole vault for the second consecutive season to mark her second straight first-team selection in the event. She earned gold with a mark of 3.10 meters on her first attempt. After both she and another competitor were unable to clear 3.25 meters and both jumped 3.10 meters on the first attempt, the results reverted to clearing 2.95 meters; Barbacci passed on the first attempt, and her competitor cleared on the second time of asking, which earned her gold.

Barbacci placed third in the 400-meter hurdles to snag an honorable mention nod. She was third with a time of 1:05.43. The new personal record moves her up two spots in the Juniata record book, as she surpassed Meredith Troutman (2004 Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell) and Jessica Sprankle (2000 MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Widener), who set times of 1:05.56. Melissa Johnson holds a program record of 1:04.94, set at the 2009 Gator Invitational at Allegheny.

Correia placed third in the hammer throw for an honorable mention selection. She claimed third with a mark of 42.74 meters on her second throw in the finals. Earlier this season, she twice broke the program record she already held in the event. At last week's Blue Jay Tune-Up at Elizabethtown, she set a mark of 45.59 meters.
