MECHANICSBURG, Pa.- The Juniata women's track and field team opened their two-day trip to the Messiah Invitational with throwing events on Friday afternoon.
Emma Coolidge set a new personal record in the discus throw with a throw of 27.57 meters to finish in 23rd place of 37 competing. She improved on her previous mark of 24.33 meters set at the Millersville Metrics two weeks ago.
The Eagles return to the Starry Athletic Complex tomorrow for the final day of the Messiah Invitational. Juniata will compete in four track events, as they'll have relay teams for both the 4x100 meters and 4x400 meters, while individuals will be racing in the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash. They'll compete in four field events, including the pole vault, high jump, javelin throw, and hammer throw.
