Eagles Take Two Podiums To Round Out Strong Showing at Susquehanna Tune-Up

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- Both the men's and women's track teams returned to Susquehanna on Friday, competing in the Susquehanna Tune-Up after last week's Susquehanna Invitational.

Nandee Correia (Stroudsburg, Pa. / Stroudsburg) claimed third place in the Weight Throw, simultaneously landing fourth in Juniata's All-Time Record Book with her throw of 12.03m. She also placed sixth in the Shot Put, throwing 10.18m. Rebecca Christophel (Three Springs, Pa. / Southern Huntingdon) finished 13th in the 400 Meters, clocking in at 1:06.44. She also placed 17th in the 800 Meters, finishing with a time of 2:41.16.

Emily Vogt (Fairfield, Conn. / Fairfield Warde) ran a remarkable race in the 3000 Meters, placing second after turning in a time of 11:13.58. She finished only .97 seconds behind Scranton's Lindsay Notarianni.

Kaylyn Walters (Port Royal, Pa. / Juniata) took eighth place in the Long Jump with a distance of 4.18m, while also taking ninth in the Triple Jump, with her best mark being 9.42m.

For the men, Zion Gomez (Chesapeake, Va. / Grassfield) was ninth in the 60 Meters Prelims, clocking in at 7.56 seconds. Wyatt Ledeboer (Orefield, Pa. / Northwestern Lehigh) and Andrew Donlan (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area) tied for 11th in the same event, both finishing at 7.61 seconds. Gomez also finished 22nd in the 200 Meters with a time of 25.85 seconds. Donlan placed seventh in the 400 Meters with a time of 55.27 seconds, while Thomas Cope (Fogelsville, Pa. / Allentown Central Catholic) was 13th with a time of 1:02.95. Cope was also 21st in the 800 Meters, clocking in at 2:27.30. Evan Thomas (Ebensburg, Pa. / Central Cambria) and Ellis Kline (Corvallis, Ore. / Corvallis) both ran in the 3000 Meters. Thomas was seventh with a 9:27.78, and Kline finished 21st at 10:40.81.

Ledeboer also competed in the Long Jump, placing eighth with a mark of 5.34m. Barrett Walters (Mifflintown, Pa. / Juniata) took 11th in the Weight Throw with his throw of 10.27m.

Both teams will return to Susquehanna once more on Saturday, February 26th, for the Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.
