Women's Track and Field Opens Indoor Season at River Hawks Opener

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata women's track and field team opened up their indoor season at the Susquehanna River Hawks Opener, Friday.

In the field, Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa. / Penns Valley) took the top spot for the Eagles placing fifth in weight throw, marking 12.37m. In the long jump, Natalie Grill (Harrisburg, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt) placed 12th marking 4.71m. Grill then placed 11th in the triple jump, marking 9.28m. Orndorf placed seventh in the shot put marking 10.05m while Marylauren Davignon (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) placed 16th marking 8.23m. 

Faith Nichols (Verona, Pa. / Taylor Allderdice) took the top spot for Juniata on the running side. Nichols placed fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 1:05.68. Saraly Gonzalez (Stratford, N.J. / Sterling) finished behind Nichols coming in with a time of 1:07.12 and Caitlyn Gasmen (Bridgewater, N.J. / Bridgewater-Raritan) placed 15th with a time of 1:14.55. In the 60m dash, Holly Caldwell (Milford, Conn. / Jonathan Law) finished 14th with a time of 9.25 while teammate Sabrina Kelly (Gilberstville, Pa. / Boyertown Area HS) placed 18th with a time of 9.73. In the 200m dash, Nichols placed ninth (28.78), Gonzalez placed 13th (29.40), Gasmen placed 30th (31.78), and Kelly placed 32nd (33.44). 

The Eagles return after the new year on January 18th as they will compete in the Highlander Invitational.
