WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.- The Juniata women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision on the road at Penn College Thursday afternoon at the Penn College Tennis Courts.
Maggie Ackley won 8-1 at first singles, while Marta Celebic picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory at fifth singles. Ackley partnered with Olivia Cooley to get an 87-73 win at first doubles.
Immy Ramsdale and Laura Julien lost at second doubles 8-2. Cooley fell 6-2, 7-5 at second singles, Julien lost 6-0, 6-0 at third singles, and Ramsdale dropped a tight 6-3, 6-3, 7-5 decision at fourth singles.
Head coach Nick Margiasso said this after the match, "All it takes is one spark to start a fire, and the guys and girls are hot right now. Two straight for the boys and better performances in each match for the ladies. They're cruising with earned confidence now."
Juniata is on the road this weekend as they open conference play at Drew Saturday at 1:00.
