Women's Swimming Picks Up a Win at Moravian

Bethlehem, Pa.- The Juniata women's team put forth a strong effort against Moravian, highlighted by several top finishes in individual events and relays.

In the 200-yard medley relay, Juniata's "B" team of Maegan Jordan, Lena Englerth, Danielle Cline, and Grace Finch finished second with a time of 2:52.00. The "A" team, consisting of Abby Ortiz, Norah McClain, Mattie Froude, and Juliana Varner, claimed third with a time of 2:10.19.

Freshman Delany Wetzel led the Eagles in the 1000-yard freestyle, taking first place with a time of 12:09.02. Kimber Beeler finished second with a time of 13:44.49, followed by Amanda Puza in third at 14:49.48.

In the 200-yard freestyle, McClain grabbed second place with a time of 2:10.71, just ahead of Ortiz who placed third at 2:13.88.

The Eagles dominated the 50-yard freestyle, with Cline finishing second at 26.97 and Englerth claiming third at 28.66.

In the 200-yard IM, Jordan finished first with a time of 2:33.39, followed by teammate Froude in second at 2:38.37.

The Eagles also claimed top finishes in the 500-yard freestyle, with Ortiz finishing first at 5:55.01 and Cline coming in second at 5:58.56.

In the 200-yard backstroke, Wetzel earned second place with a time of 2:31.60, while Jordan placed third at 2:36.98.

In the 200-yard breaststroke, McClain took first with a time of 2:49.97.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Juniata's team of Wetzel, Puza, Finch, and Beeler finished first with a time of 1:59.93.

The Eagles get back in the pool for the Cougar Splash at Misericordia on Friday.
