HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Juniata women's swimming team split in a tri-meet against Susquehanna and Lycoming. The Eagles beat Lycoming 194-55 but fell to Susquehanna 173-83.
The Eagles' "A" relay team of Delany Wetzel, Lena Englerth, Danielle Cline, and Norah McClain secured second place in the 200-meter medley elay with a time of 2:14.45, while the "B" relay team of Mattie Froude, Manali Misra, Grace Finch, and Kimber Beeler finished fifth at 2:26.54.
In the 800-meter freestyle, Maegan Jordan and Abby Ortiz represented Juniata, finishing second and third with times of 10:38.13 and 10:49.94, respectively.
Wetzel finished third in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:28.16. Beeler placed fifth at 2:39.73, and Miriam Struble-Hedstrom finished sixth with a time of 3:00.75.
In the 50-meter backstroke, Cline placed third with a time of 36.09, while Froude finished fifth at 37.65. Snabu Neupane placed eighth with a time of 47.56.
Englerth claimed first in the 5-meter breaststroke with a time of 39.12, followed by McClain in third with a time of 40.11 and Varner in fourth at 41.62.
Jordan placed fourth in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:22.12, and Misra finished sixth at 1:29.10.
In the 50-meter freestyle, Cline finished fourth with a time of 30.79, while Varner placed fifth at 31.13, and Englerth took sixth with a time of 31.41.
McClain earned second place in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:05.12. Wetzel followed in fifth at 1:09.67, while Finch placed sixth with a time of 1:12.03.
Ortiz secured third place in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:18.07. Froude finished fourth at 1:21.80, while Neupane placed sixth with a time of 1:42.06.
Jordan took third in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:30.01, while Englerth and Varner finished fourth and fifth with times of 1:30.31 and 1:33.34, respectively.
Wetzel finished second in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 5:12.28, followed by McClain in fourth at 5:17.18 and Finch in sixth with a time of 6:12.08.
Cline took second in the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 34.03. Finch placed fourth with a time of 35.59, and Struble-Hedstrom finished eighth with a time of 39.33.
Ortiz earned second in the 200-meter IM with a time of 2:47.07, while Froude and Misra finished fourth and fifth with times of 2:55.64 and 3:05.16, respectively.
In the 200-meter freestyle relay, the team of Ortiz, Jordan, Finch, and Varner secured second place with a time of 2:07.29.
The Eagles are on the road tomorrow at Moravian at 1:00 pm.
