Women's Swimming Tops McDainiel but Falls to Ursinus

WESTMINSTER, Md.- The Juniata women's swimming team split their meets on the day, beating McDaniel but falling to Ursinus Saturday afternoon. 

Norah McClain took first in the 200 breaststroke (2:46.94), second in the 50 free (26.80), and teamed up with Grace Finch, Juliana Varner, and Danielle Cline to claim first in the 200-freestyle relay (1:52.19). She also teamed up with Delany Wetzel, Lena Englerth, and Cline to take second in the 200-medley relay (2:04.82). 

Abby Ortiz, Manali Misra, Finch, and Varner took fourth in the medley relay (2:16.05), while Mattie Froude, Kimber Beeler, Englerth, and Wetzel took fifth in the 200 freestyle relay. Marian Eskarous, Snabu Neupane, Miriam Struble-Hedstrom, and Manali Misra took sixth (2:22.56)

Ortiz claimed first in the 200 IM (2:33.54), while Maegan Jordan was right behind her in second (2:33.95). Jordan touched second in the 200 butterfly (2:41.15), while Ortiz was third (2:53.15).

Jordan added a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:54.04), while Misra was sixth (3:04.89). 

Cline took third in the 200 freestyle (2:13.64), and Beeler took fourth (2.28.57). Wetzel had a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle (12.17.29). 

Englerth was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.46), Misra was fourth (125.58), and Varner touched the wall seventh (1.24.50). 

Froude was third in the 100 backstroke (1:14.46), Neupane touched the wall fifth (1:34.80) and Eskarous was sixth (1:40.74). Finch was sixth in the 50 free (29.17), and Eskarous took eighth (39.17).  

Englerth had a third-place finish in the 100 free (1:03.33), Varner followed in fourth (1:04.91), and Struble-Hedstrom finished seventh (1:13.44).  

Ortiz added another third-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:30.06), Froude was fifth (2:41.02), while Neupane was seventh (3:18.78).  

Wetzel took third in the 500 freestyle (5:57.94), and Beeler was on her heels in fourth (6:38.55). 

Cline was third in the 100 butterfly (1:09.16), while Froude was fifth (1:14.41).  

The Eagles return home to host Lycoming and Susquehanna on Friday at 4:00.
