Women's Swimming Beat Immaculata

CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. – The women's swimming team doubled their win record of the '24-'25 season with a win over Immaculata Saturday afternoon. The Eagles beat the Mighty Macs 114-86 on the road. 

Juniata's 200-yard medley relay proved themselves best with a first-place finish with a time of 2:02.00. The relay consisted of Abby Ortiz, Lena Englerth, Danielle Cline, and Norah McClain

Maegan Jordan finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:09.65; confirming the Eagles' dominance early into the meet. 

Three Eagles competed in the 200-yard freestyle. Delany Wetzel placed second with a time of 2:12.63, Kimber Beeler finished right behind in third with a time of 2:28.54, and Miriam Struble-Hedstrom placed fifth with a time of 2:44.55.

The 50-yard freestyle saw three Eagle finishes. Cline placed first with a time of 27.43. Snabu Neupane finished fourth with a time of 38.71 and Marian Eskarous placed fifth with a time of 39.20. 

Ortiz, Mattie Froude, and Manali Misra placed second, third, and fourth in the 200-yard IM with times of 2:31.94, 2:43.68, and 2:53.38 respectively.

Cline, Jordan, and Struble-Hedstrom all swam in the 100-yard butterfly. Cline finished second with a time of 1:08.58, Jordan placed third with a time of 1:15.68, and Struble-Hedstrom finished fifth with a time of 1:26.49.

McClain secured another first-place finish in her first individual event: the 100-yard freestyle. Her time was 59.00. Englerth wasted no time behind her in second place with a time of 1:03.68. Eskarous finished fifth with a time of 1:28.83. 

The 100-yard backstroke had three JC competitors. Ortiz finished second with a time of 1:10.09, Froude finished third with a time of 1:14.70, and Neupane placed fifth with a time of 1:36.87. Wetzel, a first-year standout, placed first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:52.53. Beeler finished in third for the Eagles with a time of 6:42.34.

McClain and Enlgerth placed second and third in the 100-yard breaststroke with times of 1:18.63 and 1:20.06. Misra finished in fifth with a time of 1:27.06. 

The final event of the meet, the 200-yard freestyle relay, saw two JC teams claim first and second to wrap up their strong day in the water. The first team to finish was Froude, Beeler, Jordan, and Wetzel with a time of 1:56.00. Shortly after was Eskarous, Neupane, Struble-Hedstrom, and Misra with a time of 2:20.53. 

The Eagles host Franciscan and Marywood next Saturday for a tri-meet at 1:00 pm.
