HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team dropped their first Landmark Conference match of the year, 2-0, to Elizabethtown Wednesday evening at Gibbel Stadium.
Sarah Betts made six saves in goal for Juniata.
The teams were 0-0 at the half, with the Blue Jays holding a 7-2 advantage in shots.
A minute into the second half, a Blue Jay attacker got to a loose ball 12 yards out from the Eagle goal and fired the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal.
In the 81st minute, the Blue Jays doubled their lead by heading in a ball that was shot off the crossbar.
Juniata was outshot, 16-5, and the visitors had a 5-1 advantage in corners.
The Eagles return to action on the road this Saturday against Wilkes at 2:00.
