Rodriguez's Goal Puts Eagles Past Gophers

Huntingdon, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team picked up their second straight conference win via shutout in a 1-0 win over Goucher Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium.

Olivia Rodriguez scored the lone goal of the game, and Sarah Betts made two saves in goal for the Eagles.

Juniata held a 9-3 lead in shots in the first half but couldn't find the back of the net, with the Gopher goalie making four saves.

Four minutes into the second half, Rodriguez got to a ball in the box, controlled it with her shoulder, took a touch with her left, and slotted it into the right corner.

Juniata didn't allow Goucher to take a shot in the second half.

It is the program's first win over Goucher since 2017. It is also the first time the team has won their first two Landmark Conference games since 2017.

The Eagles, unbeaten in nine games, will look to continue their strong run when they host Elizabethtown on Wednesday at 7:00.
