HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw with Pitt Greensburg Wednesday evening at Gibbel Stadium.
In the 15th minute Naomi Rich ripped a shot from outside the box went just over the cross bar.
In the 24th minute, Amelia Yordy played a cross in from the right of the 18, and Daniela Scipioni ran onto it inside the six, and got a foot to the ball but it went over the crossbar.
Each team managed two shots in the first half.
Four minutes into the second half, Haydn Paxton got her head to a Bui corner at the back post, but the keeper pushed the ball onto the post.
In the 66th minute, the ball bounced towards Yordy deep in the box. She turned and stuck her leg out to redirect it into the net, but the Bobcat keeper was there to deny the certain goal.
In the final seconds of the match, a clearance from the Juniata 18 landed at the feet of a Bobcat player 35 yards out. As they wound up to kick, Bui raced in and blocked their attempt. The ball caromed to Yordy, who took a touch but couldn't get around the final Bobcat defender, who denied her a last-ditch chance for a winner.
Julia Lane made five saves in goal for the Eagles.
Juniata returns to action at home this Saturday as they host Goucher at 1:00.
