Women's Soccer Tops Drew 1-0 for the First Time Since 2018

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team picked up their first win over Drew University, 1-0, since 2018 on their way to their first conference win of the season Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium on Homecoming.

Gracie French scored the only goal of the match, and Sarah Betts made three saves in goal.

The Rangers held a 4-2 advantage in shots in the first half, with neither time find the back of the net. In the 66th minute, Rich played French in on goal. The keeper managed to deflect the first shot but French stayed with it, and volleyed the loose ball into the net.

Juniata held on to get the shutout victory.

The win is the Eagles' seventh in a row, the most consecutive wins since the 2013 season. It is also the first time in program history that the team has gone undefeated in September.

It is the team's first conference victory since 2018, a 1-0 win over the Rangers at home.

Juniata will return to action on the road at Pitt-Greensburg, Tuesday at 4:00.
