HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's basketball team lost to visiting #21 Elizabethtown College, 81-70, Wednesday inside Memorial Gymnasium. 

Laney Gerdich tallied 16 points, four rebounds, an assist, and two steals, while Haily Sherman totaled 13 points, six rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block. Bri Bodtorf had 11 points, six rebounds, six assists, and seven steals. Steph Emert contributed 11 points, four rebounds, and an assist. 

It was an even game through the first two quarters, as the Eagles trailed by six at the halftime break, 34-28. JC led by seven, 28-21, before the Blue Jays closed the half on a 13-0 run. 

Elizabethtown widened the gap in the third, slowly adding to the Eagle deficit as JC trailed by 18 after three.  

Juniata won the final quarter by seven as they pressed to try and get back into the game in the fourth.  

JC returns to action at Wilkes University on Saturday at 2:00.
