Huntingdon, Pa.- Juniata fell to Susquehanna at home on Wednesday night in Memorial Gymnasium by a score of 75 to 53.
Olivia Berg finished with a season-high 11 points in the contest, combined with three steals and five rebounds. Haily Sherman was celebrated pregame for achieving over 1,000 career points. She put up 10 points in addition to three rebounds and a steal. Steph Emert tacked on nine more for the Eagles combined with four steals, three rebounds, and two assists. Bri Bodtorf added nine points to the score for the Eagles. She played a big part defensively, with four blocks and six steals.
Susquehanna started the game quite strong, outscoring Juniata 26 to 13. A more evenly paced second quarter saw the River Hawks go into the locker room sporting a 41 to 27 lead. The River Hawks outscored the Eagles 17 to 15 in the third quarter. In the fourth, Bodtorf forced a steal with 5:54 remaining in the game and, on the next possession, did it again, forcing another turnover, taking it to the basket for two. Sherman followed up with another steal to force three consecutive turnovers for the River Hawks in a fourth-quarter moment to cut the lead to 19.
Juniata plays next at home against Scranton at 2:00 PM on Saturday.
