BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Juniata softball team fell, 4-1 and 7-0 to Susquehanna in the first weekend of the Landmark Conference Tournament at Moravian College.
Susquehanna got on the board first as they scored two in the first off of a single down the right-field line. The River Hawks led, 3-0 after they scored another run in the third inning.
Maya McLeod (San Diego, Calif. / La Jolla Country Day School) hit her second home run of the season to left field in the fourth. In the bottom of the fifth, Susquehanna added another run to seal their 4-1 win.
Cate Baran (Tyrone, Pa. / Tyrone Area HS) pitched all six innings and totaled six strikeouts.
The River Hawks dominated in game two against the Eagles as they totaled seven runs in the fourth.
Juniata closes out their season at 8-19. This is the Eagle's first postseason appearance since 2017 and it was their best conference record since 2009.
