McPhillips is in his first year with the Eagles.
He is a 2024 graduate of Ball State University, where he was a five-year men’s volleyball team member. He was named to the Academic All-MIVA team all five years.
He also spent the past year working for the Munciana Volleyball Club as a coach, where he helped with all aspects of coaching the team.
Before that, he worked as an assistant coach at Muncie Burris High School, where he helped lead the team to a 2a IHSAA State Championship.
He also spent time as the Hyden Beach Volleyball coach, where he helped run drills, correct form, and run youth camps.
McPhillips was an accomplished high school athlete at the club and high school levels, where he was twice named a USAV All-American and once named an AVCA All-American.
He earned his undergraduate degree in sports administration and a master’s certificate in Athletic coaching at Ball State.
