Kevin Moore, a 2002 Juniata College graduate with volleyball coaching experience at the club, high school, collegiate and national levels, begins his fourth season at the helm of Juniata men's volleyball.

In his short time at Juniata, Moore has already helped shape the future of the program for years to come.  He led the transition of Juniata's storied men's volleyball program out of the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) and into a new NCAA Division III affiliation, the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC).

Moore has been named conference coach of the year in two of his three seasons, coached five All-Americans and nine all-conference selections, amassed 70 wins and gone 22-2 in league play.

Named the 2013 CVC Coach of the Year, he led the Eagles to their first conference title and first NCAA Tournament berth.  Juniata spent five weeks of 2013 ranked top three in the nation by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) under Moore and finished the season with 20+ wins for the second consecutive year, another program first.  His leadership helped Juniata upset reigning National Champion and then No. 1 Springfield College in a five-set thriller at home on February 15.

In 2012, the Eagles' first season in the CVC, Juniata posted a 24-12 (8-0 CVC) mark and reached the semifinals of the CVC Tournament. During the regular season, the Moore-led Eagles posted a 3-0 win over archrival Springfield College, and notched victories over Division I George Mason University and Division II Grand Canyon University.

In 2011, the Eagles' final season of EIVA competition, he guided Juniata to an 8-0 record in the Hay Division, earning a berth in the EIVA Tournament, and an 18-12 overall mark.

For those achievements, Moore was voted by his EIVA coaching peers to receive the 2011 Bob Sweeney Coach of the Year Award.

Moore was named the sixth head coach in Juniata men's volleyball history on August 20, 2010, becoming the third alumnus to take the reigns of the program.

"This is an exciting but challenging time for Juniata men's volleyball and Kevin's background and strengths clearly make him the person we need to navigate this great program through the coming years," said Larry Bock, Juniata's then-athletic director, at the time of Moore's hiring. "His experiences with USA Volleyball, the EIVA, and at George Mason were major considerations for those of us conducting this search, but what is most exciting is that Kevin is coming home to his alma mater. So many of us are delighted that this one is staying in the family and look forward to the Moore chapters in Juniata College Athletics history."

Moore returned to Juniata after spending two seasons at George Mason University, where he was an assistant coach and the lead recruiting coordinator for the Patriots' men's volleyball program. He helped guide GMU to an 8-19 record in 2010, reaching the EIVA Tournament semifinals. GMU went 14-16 in 2009, Moore's first season on staff, also reaching the EIVA Tournament semifinals where the Patriots fell to defending national champion Penn State.

He previously served as head boys' volleyball coach at Gates-Chili High School in Rochester, N.Y., from 2004 to 2008, leading his squad to a sectional championship in both 2005 and 2006. He was named the Section V Monroe County Class A Coach of the Year in 2006. Moore concurrently served on the coaching staff of the Pace Bootlegger Boys Volleyball Club in Rochester, and was head coach of the club's 18-and-under squad from 2006 to 2008.

Moore has been active with the USA Volleyball High Performance program for the past seven years, directing tryout camps and serving as an evaluator at camps in Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. He has served as a clinician at the USA Boys Development Camps and the Boys Youth A2 Camp and Competition since 2008. In 2006 and 2007, Moore was a training coach and evaluator at the USA Boys Youth National Team camp, helping select a team to qualify and represent the United States at the 2007 FIVB Boys' Youth World Championships.

A graduate of Juniata with a degree in elementary and special education, Moore received his master's degree in education from the State University of New York College at Brockport in 2008. He is certified as an elementary education and special education teacher in both Virginia and New York.

A four-year letterwinner in men's volleyball at Juniata, Moore helped lead the Eagles to their first Molten Division III Invitational title in 1998. He earned EIVA Division III All-Star honors in 1998 and 2000.
