Men's Volleyball Sweeps #3 Stevens To End FrogJump Invitational

Kenosha, WI.- The #5 Juniata men's volleyball team swept #3 Stevens in the final game of the FrogJump Invitational tournament in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Saturday afternoon. It was also a rematch of last year's NCAA Quarterfinal,

Tyler Goldsborough tied a career-high with 23 kills, hitting .487 with a service ace and four digs. Chase Robbins picked up 10 kills (.208) and eight digs of his own, while Luke Hoffman added seven kills (.500), two digs, and a block assist. First-year Dante Palombo tacked on four kills (.500) and two solo blocks. Will Sierer had 23 assists, a service ace as well as a solo block. 

Set one was smooth sailing for the Eagles as they picked up a 25-20 win. Juniata delivered a strong performance in the final set to secure the victory. Goldsborough and Juan Armando led the offense with crucial kills, while Palombo and Hoffman made key blocks at the net. Juniata also gained momentum with service aces and consistent defensive plays. Despite a late Stevens push, Juniata maintained composure and capitalized on their opponent's mistakes. Robbins and Armando sealed the set with decisive kills, giving Juniata a 30-28 win and clinching the match.

This was the Eagles' first win over Stevens since 2014. 

Juniata plays home next against #12 Messiah in Memorial Gymnasium on February 7th at 7:00 PM.
