Men's Volleyball Wraps Regular Season with Two Sweeps

ELMIRA, N.Y.- The #12 Juniata men's volleyball team picked up a pair of victories to close the regular season as they swept Wells 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-13) before knocking off Elmira 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-18), Saturday afternoon at Speidel Gymnasium.

The Eagles completely dominated Wells in the opening match of the day, not allowing the Express to score more than 13 points in any set while holding them to -.013 hitting on the day. Max Cooley (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bethel Park HS) tallied ten kills, three digs, a solo block, and a block assist to lead JC, while Joseph Chambers (West Hempstead, N.Y. / West Hempstead HS) had three kills and led the team in aces with four as the team put up 11 as a group. Luke Hoffman (Reading, Pa. / Exeter Township HS) had four kills while adding three aces and Grant Lorelli (Lancaster, Pa. / Hempfield HS) amassed six kills while hitting .500.

In the match against Elmira, the Eagles got another strong performance from Kevin Duffy III (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle HS) who tallied ten kills while hitting .600 with two block assists. Will Phelan (Saegertown, Pa. / Saegertown HS) chipped in with eight kills, a solo block, and a block assist, while Tyler Goldsborough (Reading, Pa. / Exeter Township HS) managed seven kills, an ace, and four digs to go with three block assists. Reese Ganter (Reading, Pa. / Exeter Township HS) had 26 assists, two kills, and a solo block.

The Eagles wrap the regular season at 25-5, the most regular-season wins for head coach Glenn DeHaven in his time here and the most for the program since 2012 when the team won 26.

JC begins postseason play by hosting Kean in a CVC Quarterfinal match Tuesday at 6:00 PM in a rematch of last year's CVC semifinal showdown.
