LEXINGTON, Ky.- The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced the Division III Men's Regional awards. Reese Ganter (Reading, Pa. / Exeter Township HS) was named the East Region Newcomer of the Year and was joined on the East All-Region team by Kevin Duffy (Columbus, Ohio / Hilliard Darby).
Ganter snags his second freshman honors after being named Continental Volleyball Conference Rookie of the Year honors earlier in the week. He made the all-conference second team after he led the conference in assists (491), was second in assists per set (8.77), eighth in digs (77), and 13th in total blocks (23). His 8.77 assists per set ranks 22nd nationally.
Duffy makes his second appearance on the East All-Region team after another stellar season that saw him named CVC Player of the Year. He is currently 1st in the country in hitting percentage and second in the country in blocks per set. In the CVC, he led the conference in hitting percentage (.479), solo blocks (14), block assists (51), total blocks (65), and blocks per set (1.23). He was third in the CVC in total kills (139) and fourth in points (194).
