Men's Volleyball Moves Down to 9th in AVCA Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky.- The Juniata men's volleyball team is ranked ninth in this week's AVCA Coaches Top-15 Poll after being ranked 8th in the week 3 poll.

On Saturday, Juniata split a pair of matches at Elizabethtown. The Eagles fell 3-2 in the first match and game back 3-0 to win the second match of the day over the Blue Jays. 

Kevin Duffy (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle HS) was named CVC Athlete of the Week for his record breaking performance. Duffy's .708 hitting percentage in the second match is the third best percentage in a single match in Juniata history. 

In the first match of the day, Duffy led the Eagles with 16 kills (.577) and four block assists. Tyler Goldsborough (Reading, Pa. / Exeter Township HS) totaled 15 kills (.462) and added 15 digs. Robert Bowling (Columbus, Ohio / Hilliard Darby) tallied 14 kills, five service aces, and ten digs. Reese Ganter (Reading, Pa. / Exeter Township HS) recorded 47 assists. 

During the second match, Duffy tallied 18 kills (.708). Will Phelan (Saegertown, Pa. / Saegertown H.S.) and Goldsborough each tallied 11 kills. Goldsborough also added six service aces and five digs. 

Men's volleyball host Elizabethtown, Tuesday, March 23rd for a doubleheader starting at 4:30PM.
