ASTON, Pa.-The Juniata men's volleyball team opened their weekend with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-14) win at Neumann, Friday evening at the Mirenda Center.

Four kills from Sean Cavanagh (Cranberry Twp., Pa. / Seneca Valley), two Knight attack errors, a kill and an ace from Hafen along with a Jordan Orth-Moore Annapolis, Md. / International School of Kenya) kill had the Eagles up 10-2. The second set was tight early, with the Knights getting within one, 6-5, on an Eagle service error before JC managed some separation. A kill and an ace from Cavanagh along with a Hafen kill made it 9-5. The Knights took the next point before two more kills from Hafen along with a kill apiece from Cavanagh and Matt Schaffer (Mount Wolf, Pa. / Northeastern) forced a Neumann timeout. A Hafen kill and a block by Schaeffer and Orth-Moore pushed the advantage to 15-6 and the Eagles had control the rest of the way, winning on a service error 25-16.

The third set saw the Eagles gain some separation early, and nurse the lead midway through the set. With the score at 16-10, a 5-0 surge essentially iced it.
