Langhorne, Pa. – The No. 8 Juniata College men's volleyball team swept competition in the final day of its Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) East Divisional weekend to improve to 22-10 overall and secure the No. 1 East seed at the CVC Championships. Juniata defeated Eastern Mennonite (EMU) 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 25-16, 25-23) before sweeping host Cairn in straight sets, 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-20).
Junior Ross Madden (Richmond, Va./Dee Run) and sophomore Paul Kuhn (York, Pa./Central York) combined for 50 kills on the day after earning 25 a piece. The pair each picked up a double-double in the win over EMU. Madden had a match-high 16 kills and 10 digs. Kuhn finished with 13 kills and a match-high 13 digs.
Freshman Matt Elias (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) ended the day with 85 assists, averaging over 12 per game. He recorded a match-high 42 against Cairn. As a team, the Eagles combined for 15 blocks.
Juniata still has one more match before the CVC Championships. They head to Princeton on Tuesday, April 9. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
