HUNTINGDON, Pa. – No. 3 Juniata men's volleyball couldn't stifle No. 2 Nazareth College's offense Friday night in the Kennedy Sports+Recreation Center as the Eagles fell 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-22) and Nazareth remained undefeated, 16-0. Juniata (12-6) recorded 10 team blocks in the match. They currently lead the nation in blocks per game.
Sophomore Alex McColgin (Buffalo, N.Y./Hamburg) finished with a team-high nine kills. Freshman Derrick Burgess (Webster, N.Y./Webster) led the defense by tying his career-best of six blocks, also a match-high.
Juniata stays home Saturday, March 2 to celebrate its senior class. The Eagles will face Hilbert at 2 p.m. and then take on No. 6 Stevens Tech at 4 p.m. They will acknowledge the accomplishments of their two seniors Cameron Andrew (Dallas, Texas/The Greenhill School) and Rob Strauss (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) before the Stevens Tech match. This is the first time Juniata will be facing both programs this season. The Eagles are 1-0 all-time against Hilbert and lead the series 12-2 against Stevens Tech.
