Madden Named National Player of the Week

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Junior Ross Madden (Richmond, Va./Deep Run) was named Sports Imports/Player of the Week by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), the organization announced Tuesday.  Madden helped lead the Juniata men's volleyball team to a 3-1 finish at the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) Crossover Weekend.  This is the 21st time an Eagle has received the honor.

 

Madden averaged 11.5 kills and 2.12 blocks per match.  He made less than one hitting error per game en route to a .340 percentage and finished the weekend with a serve percentage of .958 after committing just four errors in 96 attempts.

 

He and the Eagles host three top ranked teams this weekend at the Juniata Invitational Feb. 15-16, starting with No. 14 Medaille at 4 p.m. before getting a rematch against No. 1 Springfield at 8 p.m. on Friday night.
