WILLIAMSPORT, Pa - Juniata battled hard in Altoona but came up short in a 6–1 loss to Goucher on April 6th. The Eagles' lone victory came from Jules Guyot, who mounted an impressive comeback in singles competition. After dropping the first set 1–6, Guyot rallied to win the second set 6–4 and edged out a tight 7–5 third set to secure the point.
In doubles, Goucher swept all three matches, including a 6–2 win over Guyot and Adrian Di Benedetto Vasquez at the top spot. The closest doubles contest came at #3, where Arthur DeYoung and Gustaf Geremia pushed their opponents before falling 7–5.
Goucher maintained control in singles play, winning five of six matches in straight sets. Di Benedetto Vasquez put up a fight at #2 singles, falling 6–1, 7–5, while Deyoung battled in the first set at #4 before dropping it 7–5 and falling 6–2 in the second.
Juniata men's tennis competes next Tuesday against Susquehanna.
